What is Islam? (Is Allah a Righteous Muslim Part II)
Peace to the Universal Family.
Why is there so much controversy over these terms 'Islam' and 'Muslim'? For the record, we (Allah Team) never called ourselves 'Muslim Gods'. Those who were critical of us did and we just accepted it as a badge of honor because we understand. We don't at all suggest that others should call themselves this. To each his/her own. But I need to address another issue that seems to underlie this whole discussion: What is Islam and what is a Muslim, really? Today, not only are some brothers rejecting the term 'Muslim' but they are also rejecting the term 'Islam.' The upshot of this is that these are supposed 5%'s who reject the terms on the basis of definitions provided by the 10% and perpetuated by the 85%. I beg your pardon…? I will quote what I said in another thread and elaborate further:
[Begin Quote]
Islam is the nature of Allah, that First God that created Himself from Triple Darkness 76 trillion years ago. Islam derives from the Arabic root Seem (s), Laam (l), Meem (m), which has a basic meaning of "soundness, well-being, wholeness, freedom from evil and defect, " and the word 'Muslim' is an active participle which means that a Muslim is one whose nature is Islam (Allah) or whose character and actions exemplify Islam. Islam is not a religion. It is righteousness. There are those who come in the Name of Allah who would dare to distance Allah and the Five Percent from Islam. These persons operate from the misinformed and misguided logic that:
"Islam is submission to Allah, and I am Allah. I therefore do not submit.I therefore am not Islam (a Muslim)."
But those who are studious know that Islam does not really mean submission to anyone's will. As the late Prof. Helmer Ringgren demonstrated in his study, "Islam, Aslama and Muslim (1949)":
"If we now sum up our results and try to find what is common for the various words that are formed out of the root [s-l-m], it appears that the common idea is wholeness, entirety, or totality. The words in question express that something is whole, unbroken and undivided and therefore healthy, or peaceful and harmonious...The stress lies on totality, not on submission."
Allah indeed is Islam."
[End of Quote]
Indeed, Classical Arabic commentators of the Qur'an (e.g. al-Baydawi) and lexecographers (e.g. Jawhari and Firuzabadi) point out that the term 'Islam' derives from the Fourth (IV) Form of the verb, aslama, and this verb without an accompanying preposition means "to enter into al-silm" and al-silm means "peace".
Now of course, this is not how the masses of practicing Muslims understand Islam. For these Islam is indeed a dogmatic religion. But how is it that today so many 5%'s follow the lead of the 85% in defining reality, especially Islam? Why do these supposed 5%'s believe in the teaching of the 10%? Of the 85%? In the thread on 'Prayer' I mentioned that the oft-repeated Muslim eulogy said after mentioning Prophet Muhammad, the Arabic 'salla'llah alayhi wa salaam,' literally means 'May the PRAYERS OF ALLAH be upon him and peace." The Arabic verb salla means 'to pray' and when used with the preposition ala (alay-hi) it literally means 'to pray for ….' Allah praying? Indeed so! But because the ulama' (Muslim scholars, the 10%) rejected the God of the prophets, the Black God, and therefore did not understand how it is that Allah could be said to pray (sound familiar?), they often translate this eulogy as 'May Allah BLESS him and peace". But the verb 'to bless' is barraka, not salla ala. Why do I make ths point? Only to illustrate the 10%'s manipulation of language through which they define reality for the 85%. However, the 5% do not fall victim to the lies of the 10% for we are all wise. The same ones who have convinced the masses (85%) that 'salla'llah alayhi' means 'May Allah Bless him' also convinced the same masses (85%) that Islam means primarily or even exclusively 'submission to the will of Allah'. Do we, the 5%, believe in the lies of the 10%?This same 10% also teaches that Allah is the name of a spook god. We, the 5%, reject their spooky, incorrect definition of Allah. Why, then, are some supposed 5%'s refusing to reject the 10%'s definition of Islam? Are these persons really 5%'s following the 85%, or are they 10% masquerading as 5%?
Who is the 5% in this poor part of the earth?
A Muslim is literally one of "soundness, well-being, wholeness, freedom from evil and defect, " or as the Honorable Elijah Muhammad put it, "a righteous person." Would someone dare deny that this is an appropriate characterization of Allah? Why would some brothers insist on the 10%'s definition of Muslim even when it is pointed out to them the real meaning of the term?
Who is the 10%?
Is the problem that the terms 'Islam' and 'Muslim' are Arabic terms? If this is the reason for the objection to these terms then said persons MUST cease and desist using the term Allah, for it too is Arabic! Some have even gone to this foolish extreme, claiming that the Black Man is God but not Allah because 'Allah' is a religious term. Lol!!! 'God' is not a religious term? It is okay to say 'The Black Man is God' but it is wrong to add "whose proper name is Allah"? What foolishness! 'God' is an Indo-European religious term. So the Black Man can be defined by the devils terminology but he cannot be defined by his own Original Arabic terminology? Who is the 85%? The irony is that some of these same brothers who deny that Allah is the Black Man's (God's) proper name also went bizerk over Wakeel Allah referring to the Father as both Allah AND Clarence 13X. We cant call him Clarence 13X and Allah is not God. What then are we to call the Father now, Puddin? Far from being 'all wise' these brothers aren't wise enough to keep from shooting themselves in both feet!Arabic is the Black Man's language; it is not the language of the white Arabs. They know this, why don't the 5% know this? Arab historians distinguish between two groups of Arabic speakers: the 'real' Arabs, al-'arab al-'ārabi and the arabized foreigners, al-'arab al-'musta'riba. The Arab/Muslim historians admit that Prophet Muhammad and his tribe, Quraysh, belonged to the latter, the arabized foreigners, al-'arab al-'musta'riba, descendents of Ismael through the Adnan-Ma'ad tribes. The true, original speakers of Arabic, al-'arab al-'ārabi, are the original dwellers in Arabia, the Black (Cushite) tribes descendent from Qahtan.
Who is the 85%?
Islam did not begin or end with Prophet Muhammad. The Black al-'arab al-'ārabi knew Allah ta'ala long before the Prophet. Nevertheless, the Prophet has an important place in the universal history of Islam and those who have no appreciation of him can not be true and living 5%'s. The Prophet did not advocate a Mystery God. Those who claim this are falling victim to the lies of the 10%. The Prophet was a 5% and the Qur'an is a Scripture of the Black God. What supposed 5% will deny the value of the Prophet and the Quran?
I can in fact Cee the wisdom in some brothers preferring the name 'Nation of God and Earths' (NGE) over Five Percent. While all brothers are by nature God, they are not necessarily 5%. There are many 85% in the NGE, just as there are many 85% in the Nation of Islam. To reject the terms 'Islam' or 'Muslim' because they supposedly mean 'submission to Allah' is to fall victim to the lies of the 10%. But the 5% don't believe the teaching of the 10%.
Who are the 5% in this poor part of the earth?
It is not that the definition of Islam as 'submission to the will of Allah' has no heuristic value: it does. There is a context in which such a meaning is useful. Thus, the Honorable Elijah Muhammad repeated made the point that Islam is "the religion of the entire submission to the Will of Allah (Message to the Black Man in America, 29)." For a rebellious people recently up from slavery, such a definition of Islam was (and is still) good for the Lost-Found members of the Tribe of Shabazz, whose founder (Shabazz) himself rebelled against the Will of Allah (the Divine Council) and this rebellion would in a sense become ingrained in the nature of the people he produced – i.e. our direct ancestors. In such a context, teaching Islam as the religion of obedience to God's Will to a people who had become accustomed to disobedience to the Divine Will and obedient only to the salve master's will was/is a necessary strategy. Our disobedience against the Divine Will (the natural laws of righteousness/wholeness) was/is detrimental to our health – see for example our dietary practices and how it is affecting our psychosomatic state. Thus, Black people in America had to be taught the value of obeying the Laws of Righteousness. But the Honorable Elijah Muhammad was equally clear that this teaching had strategic purposes and that Islam was in fact not such a religion. He said:
"Islam is not a religion. We call it a religion, but it's not a religion, because it is the nature of us; therefore, the nature of us can't be called a religion. That's why the 30th chapter and the 30th verse of the Holy Qur'an teaches you that Islam is not a religion, but it's the nature in which we were born." (The True History of Master Fard Muhammad, 35)
The 10% don't teach that "submission to the will of Allah' is a SECONDARY THEOLOGICAL definition of Islam, with a different PRIMARY meaning. If they did that they would be telling the truth and therefore not 10%. Those who insist that Islam IS a religion in which folk are called to submit, rather than acknowledge that it is primarily a state of 'wholness' and only secondarily 'submission,' are falling victim to the 10%. As Amir Ali, in his book "The Spirit of Islam" notes:
"Salm (salama in the first and fourth conjugations) means, in the first instance, to be tranquil, at rest, to have done one's duty, to have paid up, to be at perfect peace, and, finally, to surrender oneself to Him with whom peace is made. The noun derived from it means peace, greeting, safety, salvation. The word does not imply, as is commonly supposed, absolute submission to God's will, but means, on the contrary, striving after righteousness."
As I close I want to leave readers with two writings from two modern day Muslims on this subject of what is Islam. The first is from Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan, an important figure in Islamic Modernist movement. Khan is a Muslim intellectual from India who died in 1898. His build, posted below, looks remarkably like a build from a true and living Five Percenter. He makes several important points in this brief extract from his 'Lecture on Islam":
1.] All of the world's religions, including Islam, must be judged on the basis of an objective criterion: science. A religious tradition is true only to the extent to which it corresponds to scientific reality.
2.] Muslims and Muslim scholars do not help the cause of Islam simply by being dogmatic, claiming in debate that "This is true because this is Islam teaches." Khan says Muslims and Muslim scholars must SHOW AND PROVE that Islam is true by showing and proving that Islam is in agreement with scientific reality.
3.] Much of what is understood to be Islam today will not pass the scientific test. This is because much of what passes as Islam today is erroneous religion fashioned by the ulema or religious scholars. On the other hand Islam as laid down by the Qur'an and the Prophet, freed from the religious errors of the ulema, will pass the scientific test.4.] Real Islam is the nature of man, man's natural disposition.5.] Ahmad Khan thus declared: "Islam is nature and nature is Islam, " which sounds awfully like our mantra: "Islam is mathematics and mathematics is Islam."6.] Ahmad Khan is even able to refer to God as a person. Thus, according to this modern Muslim intellectual, Islam the religion as represented by most of the Muslim world and preserved by most of the ulema is an erroneous, un-scientific fabrication. True Islam (no pun intended) is scientific and is the nature of man.

Sir Sayyid Ahmad Khan"Lecture on Islam"
My friends! Another problem is the big difference between critical research today [and its results] and the tenets of Greek wisdom of old, because the tenets of former wisdom were based on rational and analogical arguments and not upon experience and observation. It was very easy for our forbears whilst sitting in the rooms of mosques and khanqahs, to disprove teachings arrived at by analogous reasoning and to refute rational teachings by rational demonstrations, and not to accept them. But today a new situation has arisen which is quite different from that [brought about] by the investigations of former philosophy and wisdom. Today doctrines are established by natural experiments [i.e. experiments of natural science] and they are demonstrated before our eyes. These are not problems of the kind that could be solved by analogical arguments or which can be contested by assertions and principles which the ulema of former times have established…They (the ulema) did much to confront Greek wisdom and philosophy, but nothing or very little to satisfy the heart of the denier or doubter of Islam, by the way they would present to them Islam. It is neither sufficient for the firm believer, nor does it satisfy the mind of the doubter, TO SAY SIMPLY THAT IN ISLAM THIS HAS BEEN TAUGHT IN THIS WAY AND HAS TO BE ACCEPTED. [Need for a new theology.] In the same way there are many other reasons for which in our time Muslims need to adopt new methods in controversy. The person who considers Islam to be true and believes firmly in it, his heart will testify that Islam alone is true-whatever changes may occur in logic, philosophy and natural science, and however much the doctrines of Islam seem to be a contradiction with them. This attitude is sufficient for those who believe with a true and uncomplicated mind in Islam, but not for those who reject or doubt it. Furthermore, it is by no means a work of proper protection to confess just by the tongue that Islam is true, and to do nothing to strengthen it in its confrontation with the modern propositions of wisdom and philosophy. Today we need, as in former days, a modern theology by which we either render futile the tenets of modern sciences or [show them to be] doubtful, or bring them into harmony with the doctrines of Islam…I happen to believe that there is nobody who is well acquainted with modern philosophy and modern and natural science as they exist in the English language, and who at the same time believes in all the doctrines which are considered doctrines of Islam in the present-day understanding…I am certain that as these sciences spread-and their spreading is inevitable and I myself after all, too, help and contribute towards spreading them-there will arise in the hearts of people an uneasiness and carelessness and even a positive disaffection towards Islam as it has been shaped in our time. At the same time, I believe firmly that this is not because of a defect in the original (Deen) BUT RATHER BECAUSE OF THOSE ERRORS WHICH HAVE BEEN MADE, WILLFULLY OR NOT, TO STAIN THE FACE OF ISLAM…The person that states Islam to be true MUST ALSO STATE HOW HE CAN PROVE THE TRUTH OF ISLAM…in order to arrive at the truth it is necessary that we discover a criterion and establish a touchstone which is related to all religions in the same manner and by which we can prove our (Deen)…to be true…By this criterion I shall justify without any wavering what I acknowledge to be the original (Deen) of Islam which God and the Messenger have disclosed, NOT THAT RELIGION WHICH THE ULEMA AND PREACHERS HAVE FASHIONED….the only criterion for the truth of the religions which are present (in the world) is whether the religion [in question] is in correspondence with the natural disposition of man, or with nature (i.e. science). If yes, then it is true, and such correspondence is a clear sign that this religion has been sent by that PERSON (God) which created man. But if this religion is against the nature of man and his natural constitution and against his forces and faculties, and if it hinders man from employing these profitably, then there can be no doubt that this religion is not sent by the PERSON that created man…So I have determined the following principle for discerning the truth of the religion, and also for testing the truth of Islam, i.e. is the religion in question in correspondence with human nature or not, with the human nature that has been created into man or exists in man. And I have become certain that Islam is in correspondence with that nature…I hold for certain that God has created us and sent us his guidance. This guidance corresponds fully to our natural constitution, to our nature…After determining this criterion I clarified that Islam is in full accordance with nature. So I formulated that "Islam is nature and nature is Islam." …

The second, and final, build I want to share is from the Honorable Elijah Muhammad himself who, in a July 17,1970 edition of Muhammad Speaks Newspaper, answered the questions: "What is Islam? What is a Muslim?" His discussion is worth quoting in full (as found at www.muhammadspeaks.com)
[Begin Quote]
Islam is something new to our Black People in America and these two questions are often asked - What is Islam And What is A Muslim ?
The Arab name, Islam, which means entire submission of the to the will of God in his religion, is what confuses the question. The Arabs call it Islam, Which means, To submit to the will of God.'
Our Black people were brought up by the enemy, white man, who did not want us to ever know anything about Islam, because once the black slave learned Islam, He would never be a slave anymore.
You can probably enslave a weak Muslim - one who likes the life of the wicked world of the devil. He will not care for Islam, although you try to teach Islam to him. He is all but drunk and suffocated with the cares of this world of the wicked white race. It is hard to teach such a person righteousness.
Islam has many significances to it. Islam is wisdom. Islam is guidance of God for Man. Islam is the only way of God. Islam is called a religion, although Islam is not a religion. Islam is referred to as a religion due to the many hundreds of various kinds of religions practiced today.
These various religions (practices) have captured the minds and hearts of the people, to believe in these religions, because they allow the people to practice the evils of this world's life. One who continues to practice the evils of this world's life is called a weak Muslim, or a weak believer.
Islam, as one of the scientists put it, is the sun of law and truth to outshine everything that goes for religion. Islam does not confuse the seeker, nor does Islam confound the believer. Islam is simple. This is why the sign of Islam is representing the Sun, the Moon and the Stars. Islam, the divine duty of man...He has it in the universal order of things.
The Black Man has the right religion as there is no other religion that you can believe in, or read of, or know of, that has the truth of that religion backed by the universal order of things. Only Islam is backed by the universal order of things. This is why it takes much tricking and tempting of you, by the Devil to pull you away from Islam, once you began to believe in Islam. Once you begin to believe in Islam, it is very hard to change you.
Many times, the weak Muslim will try to practice the evil of the devil, but he will not make a good actor as long as he knows Islam and is one of the believers of Islam.
The White Man - The evil race of people, knows Islam, but by nature they were not made to believe and to teach Islam. There are a few white people that believe in Islam as sincerely as real Muslims do. These white people will see the Here-after or will be around for a long, long time, but the white people and the black people who oppose Islam will be cut off. And they will be cut off, soon.
Islam is righteousness, Islam is Justice. Islam is Equality, Islam is Freedom. Islam is everything the created man needs.
The black people in America are, by nature, born Muslim. The enemy slave-making devil, deprived the Black Man in America of the knowledge of himself. Accordingly they have deprived the Black Man in countries other than America, of the knowledge of self. An eye of luxury is the first thing the Black Man looks at the white man with. This is why the white man's luxury must be brought to a naught. This is done to relieve the Black people who are in love with the white man because of his wealth and luxury. The white man got his wealth and luxury from the labor of the Black Man. The white man enslaves all who believe in him. The white man makes the Black Man work for him for little or nothing. The Black Man of Africa... The white man has robbed them of their good land which holds wealth in it. In Africa, the white man became the master over the wealth and he put the poor Black African to slave for little or nothing, to dig the wealth out of the earth and give it to the white man. Some of the poor Black African workers cannot change clothes. They do not have enough money to buy a change of clothing. They have to wash and dry their clothes so that they can wear them the next day, until the garments are worn out. Think about it - working for 16 and 20 cents a day. When could he ever buy a suit of clothes with that salary?
The Black Man in Africa is pitiful, as the Black Slave in America was, once upon a time. Now the enemy will make the Black Slave in America look dignified like himself, in order to fool the Black African and other natives of the world of Black Man. They do this to make these other Black men fall for the white man's tricknollegy. In America, on the streets and in traffic, you cannot tell the master from the slave. The white master sells the black slave his fine automobiles, if he is able to pay for them. They both look alike with fine clothes. This is to trick other black people, to follow the white man. We must remember that the Jesus foretold the rich and wealthy man and the poor man under the parable of Lazarus and Dives, the rich man. But the end came to both. The end came to the wealth of the rich man and an end came to the poor man's laying down and wishing and grieving for the wealth of his master. Then like a modern Samson, he got angry and he wanted to pull the building down, even if he had to go down with it. He is well angry with the white slave-master when he wakes up and learns that he has been robbed so thoroughly that he does not even know himself. The Black man in America has a wonderful chance to be set in Heaven at once. And not in Hell, if he will accept the opportunity by accepting Islam.
Islam is the nature in which the Black man was created. The Black Man was created in the nature of righteousness and not in the nature of evil. I do not care what you say about the Black man he is not an evil man, by nature, The black man is good, by nature, and all you have to do is strip off that which is not himself. The Black Man being born under and nursed by the enemy, the enemy will make you to be like he would like you to be. This is what has happened to us, the black man in America. Just think of how much love the Black man and the Black Woman has for the white people. You can hardly get the Black man on the road to self. The road to self is an unlimited road, But the white man has fascinated the Black Man with wealth and luxury and the Black Man is not looking to do anything for self. He wants his self in the white man, just for the sake of temporary luxury. They are satisfied just to work for the smile and the look of friendship of white people. The snake smiles at his prey until he gets him within his reach, and then he swallows the prey. And in the Bible, there is a place where it teaches us that God will bring out of the dragon's belly that which he has swallowed.
No where in the bible is the white man referred to by a good name. The book begins with the white man symbolized as a snake in Genesis, and it ends with him as a snake, in Revelations. Why style the white man as a snake? He has the characteristics of a snake. By nature, the snake will let you know that he does not like you. When the snake looks at you he begins to stick his tongue out. This is a warning that he does not like you. And the snake has a forked tongue and not a straight tongue. This warns you that he is something that is compared with a human being that also has a forked tongue, who tells lies on one side and the truth on the other side. But he keeps the lie going stronger than the truth. So the forked tongue person is something, which by nature it is not good to take him for a friend. In the nature of the white man, he has a forked tongue. He will talk truth with you and he will talk evil with you. This is what is called tricknollegy. He lies to you in one word and tells the truth in another word to keep you thinking he is a friend of yours, By admitting the truth in one word and following it with a hundred more words that are other than the truth. The white man knows that by nature you are one of the righteous and if he can get you to believe him then he laughs at God and says, " If they follow me, you do not own them." Today, He would like to take all the so-called Negroes to hell with him by fooling them into thinking that he is a 'good adviser' to them, as the holy Qur'an teaches you and me, in the 7th Surah. But when the showdown comes he denies that he is guilty of misleading you. He says that you misguided yourselves. "Had not, from among yourselves come a warner, A Messenger warning you of these your days'? Remember these words "Your Days" Black Man, these are your days. The white man's days are gone. As I have often said, I do not blame the white man for using the very nature in which he was made. It is the God of these white people who is to blame for making such a people, And the white man obeys his God. Everything you see him do he is made to do it. If you Black Man follow the white man, you are to blame for the consequences of your following an open enemy. The white man is not a secret enemy he is an open enemy.
Islam is the only thing that can take our Black People into self again, after six thousand (6,000) years away from self. We had four hundred (400) years here in America, as a regular experiment - People, to be experimented on by the devil. Black women should be made to stay away from the devil. And when enough Black Men believe in Islam, they will keep our Black Women out of the presence of the white man. The white man feels so sure of the power he has of tricking the Black man that day and night you see Black Women on the television programs dancing around and doing his bidding in the public. These black performers do not care anything about what you are trying to do to unite our Black People together. They do not care, and for the sake of a dollar they will destroy their own self, for they do not know self. If the Black Woman knew herself she would not dare allow herself to be destroyed by the devil. We have to teach the Black Woman herself. We are responsible for her knowing herself. Will you help me to make known the self of the Black Man and Woman?
What is a Muslim? As I have foresaid, Allah, (God) in the person of Master Fard Muhammad, to whom praises are due forever, has taught me that all Black Men, Black Women and Black Children are Muslim by Nature. They are from the righteous. This is why the Bible teaches you under the name of Israel, that they will all be saved. Naturally the white man would not teach you that this is referring to the Black Slave, The Black Man in America. Also, in the Bible, you have the parable of the bones waking up and uniting together and assembling a frame of bones. Then the lesson teaches you that they all did live. The Holy Qur'an, a later book than the Bible, verifies the Bible parable by teaching you and me that Allah (God) gave life to all. He called them once and they all stood up. The Bible has it symbolically that when the loud trumpet sounded, they all will wake up. Black Brother, Black Sister, you are by nature one of the righteous but you have been robbed of your righteousness and made to live unrighteousness until now you will be whipped into submission, by divine will and power. You will be made to accept yourself. There is no limit to the nation of the Black Man. The Black Man will endure forever. God Himself is with us. Let us submit to Allah (God) and live forever. Peace be with you. The mercy of Allah (God) and his blessings to he that believes and accepts his own...Islam and the Muslims. Elijah Muhammad, Messenger of Allah, to you all.
